Driving Lessons

Today we went to the Leinster Driving School. First of all we got into groups of three or four. I was in a group of four, with three of my friends. We then went into a room for the theory test. My group got 33 out of 40. To pass you have to get 35 out of 40. We then re did the test and got 39 out of 40. After we put goggles on which made everything look like it did when you are supposedly drunk. We had to pick up one cone and put it on top of another. Watching everyone do it was so funny. Then we got to go for a drive for about 20 minutes each. It was so fun but a bit confusing with the pedals. At the end of the day one girl won a voucher for one free driving lesson for the most improved driver. It was a good day and I can't wait to be able to drive properly.

TY

Over the last few weeks we have actually done quite a bit. We have done a drumming workshop which was such good fun, we went to the cinema to see the movie Selma for History class, we went to the BT Young Scientist Exhibition, we did our TY Mini Company Competition and Scifest Competition, and lots more. We have got up to a lot of stuff since after Christmas and also a few more things to do. So weird to be thinking that we're nearly finished TY, it has been a good enough year and we have got to have loads of different fun experiences. It has given me time to try out different things and I have enjoyed it. Almost finished and then I can't wait for summer wooo !!!!! :) :) :)

This week in school is going to be busy. The TY's got into groups at the start of the year in English, we have been writing and practicing plays and tomorrow we are going to be performing them in front of each other. This will be part of our Christmas test mark. On Wednesday we are going into town for Holly Day, where we are going to be selling lollipops. Then on Thursday we are going out for a Road Safety talk for the day. I am starting to enjoy TY more now as we are doing more. Next week we have 5 tests and are going to see Elf, the musical, which should be good fun.

Rathbeggan Lake

On Friday 5th December all the TY's went to Rathbeggan Lake in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath. It was a maths trip. We were giving a few different challenges, measuring different things and solving puzzles. We were there for about 2 hours and on the way home we went to Blanchardstown for over 2 hours. We got lunch and got to walk around for a while. We had to meet back at the bus for around 2:40, and we got home at half 3. It was a good experience but was very cold!!!!!!

Mini Company

For TY mini company my group and I are making choker necklaces. It is really stressful because we need to find places to get the equipment to make them. We had an idea but unfortunately it didn't work out so we needed to think of another idea quickly. We have permission off Mrs. Barry so we are going to get working as soon as possible. Hopefully it works out for us.

TY is getting so boring now, because we don't do much or go on any trips, it's getting really annoying. But soon enough we are going to be going into town for lollipop day which hopefully will be fun. Then around Christmas time we are going to see the play 'Elf' and I can't wait for that!
